Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead financial management and strategy across multiple business entities. This role will provide critical financial reporting and strategic insights to senior leadership while overseeing key finance-related projects essential to our mission. The ideal candidate will manage various financial operations for multiple companies, including accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll, and budgeting. Experience in lending a plus! This role is critical in maintaining the financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow reports) and ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and federal/state industry requirements.

Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead financial closing processes, reconcile financial statements, and manage reporting to regulatory agencies.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare and manage annual budgets, cash projections, and financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

Internal Controls & Risk Management: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to safeguard assets, enhance internal controls, and improve processes.

Cash & Treasury Management: Oversee cash flow, liquidity, expense tracking, and treasury functions to optimize financial health.

Operational Oversight: Manage payroll (including 1099 processing), accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and financial software (such as QuickBooks).

Audit & Financial Integrity: Work with external CPA for tax filings and financial audits while maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring data integrity.

Strategic Financial Support: Provide actionable insights to senior leadership, ensuring business strategies align with financial objectives.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).

Experience: 5+ years in accounting or finance, preferably in financial/loan sectors.

Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.  Experience in lending a plus!

Software Proficiency: Expertise in QuickBooks (online) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling; strong cash flow management, budgeting, and financial analysis.

Detail-Oriented & Organized: Ability to manage high-volume workloads, prioritize tasks, and ensure data accuracy.

Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to explain financial concepts.

Adaptability & Leadership: Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
